What this all comes down to is opportunity cost. With each decision in the story there was a question in my head: is this the best choice to give me the best reading experience. I kept remembering the cool robots with lasers on the front cover and wondered what choices I had to make to find them. And then, when I made some boring choices, Ryan North mocked me and said that somewhere someone was reading about cool robots with laser eyes, and I wasn't!
