Hancock House

Next year, Hancock House turns 100 years old. The house was originally built by Henry Hancock in 1924. We are only the fourth family to live here. We have lived here 27 years.

We've recently seen locals taking notice of the house and garden which gave us the idea to do this. We thought some locals may be interested to learn some things about the house.

This week we thought we'd make four photos available of the house before it was painted in the early 1990s (Scroll the pictures or wait for them to change). The house's weatherboard is thick Jarrah which was originally oiled, not painted. The photos were given to us by a former owner, Ernie Huntington, whose mother, Noreen, bought the house from Henry Hancock in 1967 and called it Norwood.

This page is an experiment. We may or may not continue it in the future. At the moment we thought we would update it about once a week for locals if I see any interest. Check back around Tuesday or Wednesday each week.
